The Fall (band)
The Fall is an English avant- rock group, which was founded in 1976 during the " punk explosion" in Manchester. The band was based on the novel La Chute ( The Fall German ) by Albert Camus named.
The focus of the band was from the beginning, Mark E. Smith, who is also the only constant member of the band. Over fifty musicians played since its founding in the band. During this time The case published 88 albums ( including 28 regular studio albums ) and 45 Singles. Some influences are bands like The Seeds, Captain Beefheart, Can and The Velvet Underground. However, Rockabilly, intelligent dance music and reggae influenced the sound of the group.
The Fall have collected since its inception a committed fan base around to the example of the musician Henry Rollins belongs. Died in 2004, English radio disc jockey John Peel was known as a great supporter and patron of the group.
