The Fear (also known under the title of I Do not Know ) is a song by British pop singer Lily Allen. The song was released on 9 December 2008 as the lead single from Allen's second studio album It's Not Me, It's You in the UK. In Germany it was released on 23 January 2009.
Background and Inspiration
Originally it was planned to publish Everyone's At It as the lead single from the album, but at last they decided on The Fear. Lily Allen released a demo version of the song titled I Do not Know on her MySpace account, together with the single I Could Say in April 2008.
About the inspiration of the song told the singer, "I 'm a street gone down in the middle of England, when I saw an approximately eight year old girl with short hot pants and a tight- cut uppers with her mother.
