Band History

This continued on the second release of the band in 2004, the album Blueberry Boat. Especially this album was highly praised by critics (eg Pitchfork Media ). It stands out in contrast to its predecessor, in part, by songs of epic length, but usually consist of very short partial sequences. Variety, creativity and unpredictability typical of the band, but also cause the music is difficult to access, is hardly played on the radio and is rejected by some to be too chaotic.

In 2005 published The Fiery Furnaces EP, a collection of rarities and unreleased songs, but the albums length reaches almost in spite of the name, with 41 minutes. Some songs from the EP are marked electronically. In the same year Rehearsing My Choir, an experimental album, in which Olga Sarantos, the grandmother of Fried Berger participated appeared.

Was published in 2006 Bitter Tea, an album that was, according to the band inspired by the synth pop group Devo and more accessible than the previous albums.

The Fiery Furnaces Matthew Friedberger is mainly responsible for writing the songs while Eleanor sings in most pieces. Both are active but sometimes also in the other area.

Eleanor Friedberger is romantically involved with Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand. Your dedicated the song Eleanor put your boots on.
