The pot still is the centerpiece in the production of whiskey, critical to the character of the whiskey is the form. Designed by the founder George Smith lantern shape is still used for the production of this whiskey. The high firing bubbles promote contact between distillate and copper, remove impurities and allow mixing of the flavor elements.

Products

In Germany six different qualities are sold: The Glenlivet 12, 15 and 18 year old, the cask strength quality Nadurra ( at least 16 years maturation ) and The Glenlivet Archive 21 year old and the 25 -year-old XXV. Like most malt whiskey The Glenlivet is cold filtered to prevent the whiskey becomes cloudy when adding water or ice.
