The Mary Onettes

The Mary Onettes are an indie pop band from Sweden Jönköping.

Band History

The Mary Onettes were founded in 2000 in the Swedish town of Jönköping. In the early years, constantly changing cast and musical orientation, until finally found the current band members who lined up the sound on the 80 - indie guitar pop and it took up also influences the Twee - Pop, Gothic Rock and New Wave. 2005 Sony BMG became aware of the group, offered her a contract and marketed their first EP Make Me load. Despite good reviews her contract was not renewed. Then they sent a demo CD to the Swedish label Labrador Records, which signed the band in early 2006 under contract. In the same year the EP Lost was released on the label. Published in 2007, first in Sweden, then in Europe and at the end of the year in the U.S., the self-titled debut album, which could meet the high expectations and was mentioned also at Pitchfork Media. It was followed by the EP Void and a video for the explosion. In autumn 2007 the band went on tour, which brought them to Germany. After a year without releases published in 2009 in succession the single puzzle that Dare EP and the album Islands. In 2010, the band released What Pretty and The Night Before The Funeral out the singles Once I. In February 2012, the EP Love Forever was released. In November 2012, the single Evil Coast appeared as a single from her third studio album Hit The Waves, which was released in March 2013.
