The Next Man

Oil ( Alternative title: The next man; Original title: The Next Man, The Arab Conspiracy ). 's An American action thriller from 1976, directed by Richard C. Sarafian, who together with Morton S. Fine, Alan Trustman and David M. Wolf wrote the script.

Action

The Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Khalil Abdul- Muhsen proposes to recognize Israel and included in the OPEC. Arab terrorists decide to kill the politician and instruct the assassin Nicole Scott.

Abdul- Muhsen Scott learns to know and fall in love with them. Scott reciprocates his feelings, what prevents them from carrying out their task. Together, they will travel some resorts. In one of them they are being attacked by a group of terrorists who kill some guards. The terrorists are defeated by Abdul- Muhsen, from Scott and from a surviving bodyguards.

To film the end Abdul- Muhsen gives a speech in which he promotes the interaction awareness of the Arab countries with Israel and threatens the opponents of this cooperation.

Reviews

John Parker wrote in his book Sean Connery • The biography of Thriller was " boring" and " incoherent ". Its director show " full detail the beauty of the locations around the world," and losing " obviously the thread ". Some contemporary critics were " partly very hostile," but this was not Connery.

Roger Ebert described the story in the Chicago Sun - Times 17 November 1976 as " impenetrable ". Only a few scenes were effective, especially those with Sean Connery and Cornelia Sharpe.

The magazine TV directly 18/2007 criticized the "weak" script and praised the " good " performers.

Background

The film was shot in New York City, among others, in London, in Bavaria and in Morocco. He could not find a longer time no British lender because of its quality.
