The Race (yachting race)

The Race was an ocean race, the 2000/2001 to multihull sailing yachts of the G- Class - ie indefinitely large boats ("no limit" ) - non-stop in from the outside once around the world without assistance. Output port was Barcelona in Spain, destination port, the French Marseille.

An attempt to carry out the race again in 2004, failed at an early stage of the organization. At present ( 2004) is planned for 2013/2014 a further attempt.

Regatta 2000/2001

Was initiated the launching on 31 December 2000 Regatta of the record sailors and multiple Jules Verne Trophy- winner Bruno Peyron. The route led from the western Mediterranean over the Atlantic to the south and east direction around the Cape of Good Hope, Leeuwin and Horn, before it went into the Mediterranean Sea across the Atlantic back. Results:

Planning requirements in 2004 and 2013/2014

A new edition of the race was planned by Peyron with start on 29th February 2004 So just over three years after the first edition, and source and destination port Marseille, but had to be canceled due to lack sponsors. In February 2010, Peyron could announce that he was planning a new edition of the regatta for 2013/2014.
