The Tallest Man on Earth

The Tallest Man on Earth (* 30 April 1983 in Dalarna, Sweden) is the pseudonym of folk rock musician Kristian Matsson and at the same time a reference to his short stature.

His music is often compared to that of the early Bob Dylan. Matsson himself, who already live stand with 15 years on the stage, leads not only to Dylan also Feist, Bon Iver, Okkervil River and the Avett Brothers as major influences on his musical development.

His first album was published in 2006, the EP The Tallest Man on Earth. But Matsson was known by a review of his debut album Shallow Grave at Pitchfork and its subsequent tour as the opening act for Bon Iver to a wider audience in 2008.

In April 2010, the release of his second album, The Wild Hunt followed. The recordings for this album originated almost exclusively on tour and were not professionally produced but taken at different locations without recording studio. While he published his two previous albums in the Swedish indie record label gravitation, he commissioned for the distribution of The Wild Hunt, the American label Dead Oceans.

Kristian Matsson is also the former lead singer of the band The Montezuma, with whom he released an album entitled Montezuma 2006.
