The Union Underground

The Union Underground was an American Nu-Metal-/Industrial-Rock-Band from San Antonio.

History

In the 1990s, the guitarist Bryan Scott and Patrick Kennison met at a high school in San Antonio. After both had their degree in his pocket both founded the recording studio The Studio Underground and wrote songs together. In 1997 the duo released a self-titled EP, which was sold more than 5,000 times. Then the band from Columbia Records was signed. The bass player John Moyer and drummer Josh Memolo completed the line-up.

In June 2000, the album was released An Education in Rebellion, which held for four months in the U.S. album charts and was sold within two years, more than 350,000 times. The band toured in fall 2000 opening for Marilyn Manson and took years later participated in the Ozzfest tour. In March 2002, The Union Underground took the song "Across the Nation" on a sampler for the World Wrestling Federation.

About Portrait Records, the live album Live ... One Nation Underground was released in 2002. A year later, The Union Underground disbanded. John Moyer joined in 2004 the band Disturbed on.
