The Unraveling is the debut album by the American punk rock band Rise Against, which was, under the label of Fat Wreck Chords, published on 24 April 2001. Under the guidance of producer Mass Giorgini was the album at Sonic Iguana Studios in Lafayette, Indiana, produced in December 2000. It is the only Rise Against studio album in which the singer Tim McIlrath does not play guitar.

Background

Rise Against existed before the recordings for over a year as a local Chicago band under the name "Transistor Revolt ". Under this name they released previously a demo Album.Transistor Revolt, before they changed their name to Rise Against. Shortly after the release of the demo album by the drummer Tony Tintari left the band Rise Against and replaced him with Brandon Barnes. The demo album was attentive make the punk label Fat Wreck Chords on Rise Against, which later took the band under contract. The Unraveling was taken in December 2000 in which they also used material from Transistor Revolt.
