The Wedding Singer ( The Wedding Singer) is an American comedy film directed by Frank Coraci from the year 1998. The film starred Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.

Action

The action takes place in 1985, Robbie Hart -. Was once pursued ambitious goals - is a singer who sings at weddings and bar mitzvahs. At one of these parties he met Julia. Robbie himself is about to marry Linda, but leaves him on the wedding day.

After this event, Robbie is strongly depressed, which is also reflected on his work. The wedding celebrations, on which he sings, become a nightmare for the newly wed couples as Robbie takes the opportunity to make his frustration publicly air. At one of the weddings he holds a cynical tone held in the speech; the celebration ends with a fight. Julia comforts Robbie and trying to find a partner for him. Thus, the two eventually fall in love, but Juliet is torn between her fiance Glenn, a macho, and the shy wedding singer Robbie.

Juliet is to marry her boyfriend Glenn in Las Vegas. Robbie finds out that Julia Glenn has already defrauded several times and in no way intends to refrain from doing so after the wedding. Julia is not sure about her feelings, but decides to marry Glenn in Las Vegas. Robbie flying the same aircraft in the first class, where he met Billy Idol and this tells his story. By a flight attendant who complained about a rowdy passenger, he learns that Glenn and Julia are in the same plane. Billy Idol helps Robbie, who is now the crew and some passengers on his side. Robbie sings a song about his love for Julia, which can be heard through the speakers. When Glenn learns that Robbie sings to Julia and then discovered him, he lunges at him, but by a steward who comes to meet him with his drink cart, prevented and overwhelmed by Billy Idol and a rocker and his men. Stirred takes Julia to Robbie's marriage proposal and they kiss intimately. The film ends with the marriage of the two.

Reviews

James Berardinelli wrote on ReelViews, the comedy was too sweet. It was not funny or well written. Adam Sandler WOULD surprisingly tame.

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun - Times of 13 February 1998, the script acts like a collaboration of Jekyll and Hyde. The plot WOULD familiar. Adam Sandler was unfit for a leading role. Ebert praised only on a small part of Steve Buscemi.
