The Wizard of Id
Magnus the Magician ( in the original English: The Wizard of Id) is a cartoon character, conceived in 1964 by the Americans Johnny Hart ( text) and Brant Parker ( drawings).
The eponymous comic strip is about the events in the backward and oppressed mythical kingdom Id Shown are people from all corners of the Kingdom (mainly of impoverished farmers, servants and beggars ), but the main focus is on the court of the tyrannical monarch. By means of systematic exaggerations and running gags both the Dark Ages and the present are often satirized with black humor.
The first Magnus strip was published on November 9, 1964. Since then, the strips published under license from the Creators Syndicate worldwide in thousands of newspapers. The adventures are also available in a collection paperbacks.
