Thierry Ascione

Thierry Ascione ( born January 17, 1981 in Villeurbanne ) is a French former tennis player. His highest singles ranking on the ATP Tour, he reached on February 9, 2004 Place 81

Career

After Ascione 1998 played in his first Futures tournament, he only three years later won in valescure (France) his first tournament as part of the Future Tour. In 2003, he won his first Challenger in Andrezieux tournament against the Slovaks Karol Beck. After he reached the second round at the Masters tournament in Paris, where, however, was eliminated against Roger Federer, he managed to place 88 for the first time among the top 100 in the world rankings. Previously Thierry Ascione could win no ATP tournament, but he was victorious in eight Challenger and three futures tournaments. Mainly he won his title on hard court, only three of his Challenger title he won on a sandy bottom.
