Thomas F. Burchill

Thomas Francis Burchill ( born August 3, 1882 in New York City; † March 28, 1960 ) was an American politician. Between 1943 and 1945 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Thomas Francis Burchill attended St. Francis Xavier High School in New York City and then went to the Niagara University in Niagara Falls, which he verließt again with a Bachelor of Arts. He worked as an auctioneer and appraiser ( appraiser ), but also went to 1900 in New York City insurance transactions after. Burchill sat 1919-1924 in the New York State Assembly and 1924-1938 in the Senate from New York. In 1938 he was a member of the New York World 's Fair Commission. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party.

In the congressional elections of 1942, for the 78th Congress Burchill was in the 15th electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Michael J. Kennedy on January 4, 1943. Since he gave up for reelection in 1944, he retired after January 3, 1945 from the Congress.

After his conference time he went to New York City back to its previous transactions. He worked as a consultant and Alien Property Custodian. On March 28, 1960, he died in New York City and was buried at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
