Thomas Flynn (bishop of Achonry)

Thomas Flynn ( born July 8, 1931 in Ballaghaderreen ) is retired Bishop of Achonry.

Life

Thomas Flynn received on 17 June 1956, the ordination to the priesthood for the Diocese of Achonry. Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 30 December 1976 for the Bishop of Achonry.

The Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland, Gaetano Alibrandi, consecrated him on February 20th of the next year to the bishop; Co-consecrators were Joseph Cunnane, Archbishop of Tuam, and James Fergus, Bishop Emeritus of Achonry.

On 20 November 2007, Pope Benedict XVI. its age-related resignation.
