Thomas M. Reynolds

Thomas Reynolds ( born September 3, 1950 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania) is an American politician. Between 1999 and 2009 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Thomas Reynolds was born about five years after the end of World War II in Centre County. He graduated from Springville - Griffith Institute in Springville. He attended Kent State University in Kent (Ohio ). Between 1970 and 1976 he served in the New York National Guard. He was elected in 1974 in the Town of Concord Board. He worked there until 1982. In 1982 he was elected to the Erie County Legislature. He worked there until 1988. Between 1988 and 1998 he sat in the New York State Assembly. Politically, he belongs to the Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1998 for the 106th Congress Reynolds was in the 27th electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Bill Paxon on 4 January 1999. He was re-elected once. In 2002 he stood as a candidate in the 26th electoral district of New York for the 108th Congress. After a successful election, he stepped on 4 January 2003 the successor of Maurice Hinchey. He was re-elected twice in a row. Since he gave up for reelection in 2008, he retired after the 3rd of January 2009 from the Congress.
