Thomas Mandl

Thomas Mandl ( born February 7, 1979 in Eisenstadt ) is an Austrian football player. Currently Mandl plays for First Vienna FC 1894 in the second highest Austrian league, the first league.

Career

The goalkeeper started his career in the Burgenland League at ASKÖ Hirm, where he was already 15 years old first goalkeeper. After good performances of the SV Mattersburg knocked, where he played from 1994. In 1997 he then moved to Austria Wien. In the Viennese he was initially only substitute goalkeeper for Franz Wohlfahrt. After welfare career was coming to an end, he became his successor at the Purple. After a very good performance, he became the Austrian national team goalkeeper.

2003 then came the setback. The Austria undertook Joey Didulica. At first he was able to prevail against the Australians yet, but according to rough carvers of Burgenland was demoted to number two. In January 2004, he accepted the offer of Sturm Graz to get match practice again. Mandl was loaned by the citizens of Graz for half a year.

After geschafftem relegation battle with the blacks went to Switzerland for FC Basel. There, however, Mandl could not prevail against the Swiss goalkeeper Pascal Zuber Buhler, so it was borrowed in the season 2005/2006 of VfB Admira Wacker Mödling. After he lost the relegation battle with the Admiralty, he rejected the second division and was looking for a club. After transfer deadline he stood there without a contract. The contract with Basel he had previously resolved.

Mid-November 2006 Mandl was introduced as the new goalkeeper of the Italian fourth division FC Nuorese, but already moved in January 2007 in the Austrian Regional League East for ASK Schwadorf. Mandl held the club and the loyalty after Richard Trenkwalder renamed the ASK Schwadorf in FC Trenkwalder Admira Wacker Mödling and the club seat to Mödling moved. The Admira 2009 he reached the FA Cup final, which went but lost 1:3 against Austria. In April 2010, the goalkeeper was on leave, but changed in the summer of 2010 for the Bundesliga club LASK Linz. In the season 2010/11 Mandl was with the LASK the league not create and rose with his club in the First League from. After the LASK was denied a license at the end of the following season, Mandl moved to the beginning of the 2012/2013 season to First Vienna FC.

Mandl played 13 times for the Austrian national team.
