Thomas Pollock

Thomas Allen "Tom" Pollock ( born August 1, 1925 in Red Deer, Alberta, † 17 August 1994 ) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1952 he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.

Career

Tom Pollock began his career as a hockey player in 1942 at the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. He then played two years in the junior Ontario Hockey League, first for the St. Catherine's Falcons and then the Galt Red Wings. Then he moved to the senior level and ran for two years for the Owen Sound Mohawks on. During this period he also completed five games for the San Francisco Shamrocks of the Pacific Coast Hockey League. It was followed by two seasons with the Owen Sound Mercurys. The season 1949/50, he joined the Regina Caps for which he in the Western Canada Senior Hockey League played five games. He then moved to the Melville Millionaires of Saskatchewan. As he played with the Millionaires, he was bound by the Edmonton Mercurys, with whom he represented Canada at the Olympic Winter Games 1952. After the tournament, he spent two more seasons with the Melville Millionaires, before 1954 his hockey career ended.

Internationally

For Canada Pollock participated in the Olympic Winter Games in 1952 in part in Oslo, where he won the gold medal with his team. In eight games, he scored two goals and an assist.
