Thomas Schneider (athlete)
Thomas Schneider ( born November 7, 1988 in Forst) is a German sprinter.
In 2005, the former footballer came as part of a student exchange in the U.S. for the first time in contact with the track. At a high school in Milwaukee, he took a liking to the 400 - meter track. As a result, Schneider joined the LC to Cottbus coach Jochen Wiedemann. In 2008, the training group moved closed to SC Potsdam.
His first successes came in 2007, when he won the German 4 x 400 - meter relay silver at the U20 European Championships in Hengelo and bronze at the German Youth Championships over 400 meters. In the German Junior Championships 2009 Schneider won his first title over 400 meters, having already won silver in the previous year.
In hope of a season - use at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, he opted not to participate in the U23 European Championships, but did not ultimately used. In 2010 Schneider improved his personal best to 46.03 s and won silver at the German Championships. Subsequently, he was nominated as a member of the German 4 x 400 - meter relay for the 2010 European Championships in Barcelona, where he reached the final as the final runners and there took fourth place.
At the European Indoor Championships 2011 in Paris Schneider won the silver medal in the 400 -meter run. 2012 Schneider was at the European Championships in Helsinki with the relay ( Jonas Plass, Kamghe Gaba, Eric Kruger, Thomas Schneider) win in 3:01,77 min the bronze medal. At the Olympic Games in London, the squadron was eliminated in the flow.
Thomas Schneider has a competition weight of 79 kg at a height of 1.85 m. Since 2012 he start for the Dresdner SC.
