Thomas William Rhys Davids

Thomas William Rhys Davids ( born May 12, 1843 in Colchester, Essex, England; † December 27, 1922 in Chipstead, Surrey, England ) was a British researcher and founder of the Pali Pali Text Society in London, an association for scholarly edition and translation of texts of the Buddhist Pali Canon. The Association was the first organization that has transcribed and translated this canon in a large scale.
