Thomaz Bellucci

Thomaz Bellucci Cocchiarali ( born December 30, 1987 in Tietê, São Paulo) is a Brazilian tennis player, who is active on the ATP Tour since 2008.

Career

Bellucci won his first minor Future tournament in May 2007 in his home country. His first Challenger tournament denied the Brazilians in July of the same year in Bogotá (Colombia ), where he reached the final straight away there but lost in three sets. A week later, he reached again the final of the tournament in Cuenca (Ecuador), subject to there again, this time in straight sets.

His first tournament on the ATP Tour in Costa do Sauipe played Bellucci in 2008, where they lost in the first round against the Ecuadorian Nicolas Lapentti. In February 2008, he won his first Challenger tournament in the Chilean capital Santiago de Chile to the Argentinian Eduardo Schwank 6-4, 7-6. There were other victories on the Challenger Tour in Florianópolis ( Brazil), Tunis (Tunisia ) and Rabat ( Morocco). After the tournament victory in Tunis, the Brazilian was the first time among the top 100 in the world rankings. At the tournament in Costa do Sauipe 2009 Bellucci came through to the final of the ATP tournament by the favored pro Juan Carlos Ferrero beat among others. In the final, he defeated Tommy Robredo of Spain in three sets.

His first ATP tournament won Bellucci in Gstaad 2009., Where he sat down in the final against the German Andreas Beck Nachwuchshoffnug 6:4 and 7:62 through. In February 2010, he won his second title on the ATP World Tour in Chile at the Movistar Open. He hit the set at position two Argentine Juan Mónaco in three sets 6:2, 0:6 and 6:4. In the 2012 season, he again won the tournament in Gstaad, as he defeated in three sets in the finals also Janko Tipsarevic.

In July 2013 he won at the side of Facundo Bagnis the ATP tournament in Stuttgart; they defeated in the final of the two poles Tomasz Bednarek and Mateusz Kowalczyk. By his first World Tour doubles title, he advanced on rank 70 of the double world ranking, his best to date placement.

Bellucci is a renowned clay court player. Its Futures and Challenger title he won all of them on this surface.
