Thomson TO7

The Thomson TO7 was a home computer from France, which was circulated only low in Germany. He was introduced as the first computer company Thomson in November 1982. The abbreviation TO stands for " Télé- Ordinateur " (German TV - computer).

General

As a special feature of the TO7 has a light pen, which is tucked under a small cover above the keyboard. He was supported by the operating system, and many applications - so that the Start-up of the computer with the stylus has already been served. This native support of the light pen was also the hallmark of subsequent computer systems from Thomson. The TO7 is also equipped with a membrane keyboard, with which, however, no high tip speed can be achieved - and each stop is accompanied by a short acoustic signal ( beep). To the left of the keyboard is - protected by a flap - a slot for plug-in modules. At the back there are three system bus and memory bus interface. The TO7 has no built-in BASIC system. This was included on your plug-in module from Microsoft. In June 1984, the TO7 was replaced by its successor TO7 -70.
