Threat Signal

Threat Signal is a metal band from Hamilton ( Ontario ) ( Canada). The band was founded in 2003. Main influences for the band Fear Factory, Soilwork, Pantera, Meshuggah and Devin Townsend.

Band History

The cousins ​​Jon and Rich Howard formed the band in late 2003. Shortly thereafter, Kyle McKnight got inside. On your home PC, the trio began demo recordings.

In April 2004 they released the song " Rational Eyes" on the internet platform " Garageband.com ". At this time, the band has no name yet. Since you however need to log a, Jon Howard is provisionally the name of Threat Signal. Kyle McKnight is not like this name until today. After a few weeks, the song occupied the top position of the local metal charts. Motivated by this success, they released on the same platform with "One Last Breath ", " Inane " and "A New Beginning " three more songs, which also reached a positive feedback. With Marco Bressette a solid bass player got into the band below. End of 2004, Threat Signal with " Rational Eyes " on the " Unheard of! " Sampler of the German Rock-Hard magazine were represented. In this sampler, the magazine provides in each case before the best newcomer of the year.

About their band photographer Fear Factory guitarist Christian Olde Wolbers became aware of Threat Signal. In Los Angeles Olde Wolbers produced the debut album "Under Reprisal ". In the meantime, the band signed a contract with the German label Nuclear Blast. In December 2005, the American George Parfitt completed (drums), the line-up. He drew specially for the band from his hometown of Buffalo to Hamilton.

"Under Reprisal " was released on 26 May 2006 and has scored a positive response from music critics. So the album finished in June - soundcheck of Rock Hard magazine third place, on the monthly Metal Hammer Sampler " Maximum Metal " Threat Signal again with the re-recorded " Rational Eyes" were represented. On 1 August 2006 Rich Howard left the band. Bassist Marco Bressette then took over the vacated guitar position. New bass player after a short search in September 2006 Pat Kavanagh.

Thanks to the many members change the album Vigilance appeared September 11, 2009, already as its predecessor under the record label Nuclear Blast. The songs are, like its predecessor, both melodic, but also included the features of modern metal. The production of the album took over this time Jon Howard himself. In July 2010, the band announced that Adam Weber has left the band, and then the guitarist Kris Norris stepped in for a few concerts in the short term. In September of the same year drummer Norman Killeen also left the band. He was replaced by Alex Rudinger. In addition, the band Chris Feener presented as a new guitarist, with whom she the Threat Over Europe Tour 2010 disputed November-December 2010.

Then came the year 2011 where they released their latest work " Threat Signal " on October 7. This again under Nuclear Blast. Opinions and reviews diverged widely in this album. And the following year, 2012, the relatively new drummer Alex Rudinger left the band, according to his own statement because a lot has changed for him in the last few months and he has to take on new projects.

Trivia

George ( drummer ) Jon Howard has even suggested the band name " Abortion Machine". Howard still do not know whether it's the best or worst band name he has ever heard.
