Thuret, Puy-de-Dôme
Thuret is a commune with 822 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Puy -de- Dôme in the Auvergne region.
Location
Thuret is located in the heart of Limagne about 25 kilometers southwest of Vichy and 31 kilometers northeast of Clermont -Ferrand. Riom, the capital of the arrondissement, is 15 kilometers south-west.

The inhabitants of Thuret live mainly from agriculture to the environment as well as of small trade and crafts.
History
Human traces go far back, because you have found in the area bifaces and blades of flint. Human settlements there has hardly been only in Gallo- Roman times. Thuret lay on an important Roman road that connected Clermont- Ferrand ( Augustonemetum ) Vichy ( Aquae Calidae ); five Roman estates ( villae rustica ) have so far been discovered in the area.
In a document of Pepin II of Aquitaine from 848 Thuret is mentioned as Viguerie. In the high Middle Ages, the town belonged to a Benedictine priory, was its mother monastery in Clermont -Ferrand.

- On a hill are the remains of the Château de Thuret, a mitt parental castle. Preserved are parts of a donjon from the 13th/14th century. Century.
- The Château La Canière, an imposing mansion from the 19th century and is built in the neo-Renaissance style and is located about 1 km outside the village. It has been converted to a golf hotel; in 8-hectare park, you can walk.
