Tilburg University ( Dutch: Universiteit van Tilburg ( UVT ), English: Tilburg University ( TiU ) ) is a university in the Netherlands, located in the city of Tilburg. Today it has more than 13,000 students from 97 different countries and 1,800 employees and has a budget of 193 million euros. The focus of teaching and research is on the social sciences (especially economics ) and Jura.

History

The University was founded in 1927 as a Roman Catholic Graduate School, and devoted himself exclusively to corporate governance. In 1938, renamed itself in Catholic business school to, and as 1963 new faculties finally emerged in Catholic University of Tilburg. From 1986 she was called Catholic University of Brabant and since September 1, 2002, occurs under its current name.

Organization

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration ( 1927) is the oldest and largest faculty. The other four faculties - law ( 1963), Social and Behavioral Sciences ( 1963), Humanities (2007) and Theology and Religious Studies (1967 ) - are of more recent date. In addition, the University of Tilburg, a collaboration with the Technical University of Eindhoven, as well as a number of research centers and other universities.

International orientation and English language teaching

Tilburg University is becoming increasingly international and actively recruits international students and academic staff. Currently, about 8 % of the students come from abroad (as of 2010). There are numerous English-language courses offered, including 32 master's degree programs and the following bachelor degree programs:
