Walter Clarence " Tillie " Voss ( born March 28, 1897 in Detroit, Michigan, USA, † December 14, 1975 ) was a U.S. American football and basketball player. He played in the National Football League ( NFL) with the Detroit Tigers, the Buffalo All-Americans, the skirt Iceland independents, the Akron Pros, the Toledo Maroons, the Green Bay Packers, the Detroit Panthers, the New York Giants, the Chicago Bears, as well as the Dayton Triangles and the Buffalo Bisons. As a basketball player, he was active in the American Basketball League ( ABL) at the Brooklyn Arcadians, the Detroit Cardinals, the Chicago Bruins, the Rochester Centrals and the Washington Palace Five, as well as the Fort Wayne Hoosiers.

Playing career

Tillie Voss studied from 1917 to 1920 at the University of Detroit Mercy. At his college he played both football, and basketball. After finishing school he was in 1921 at the Detroit Tigers professional football. In the midst of the season he moved to the Buffalo All-Americans. The team played in the American Professional Football Association was founded in 1920, which was later renamed the NFL. The All-Americans had finished the league as a table first, but were challenged by George Halas, the co-owner of the Chicago Staley to a decider. The Staley won the game 10-7. They were thus tied and were told by the league to the Master. Tillie Voss played in 1922 for the trained by Jimmy Conzelman rock Iceland independents and the Akron Pros. In 1923 he ran for the Toledo Maroons. In 1924, Voss undertook at the Green Bay Packers on and scoring five touchdowns in the team of Curly Lambeau - that was Mannschaftsbestleistung. Tillie Voss is buried in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.

Tillie Voss was elected three times to the All- Pro. He is a member of the University of Detroit Mercy Athletics Hall of Fame.
