Tim Pigott-Smith

Tim Pigott -Smith ( born May 13, 1946 in Rugby ( Warwickshire ), England ) is a British actor.

Life and work

He attended the Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College, Leicester, King's Grammar School in Stratford- upon- Avon and the University of Bristol. He then studied acting at the Old Vic Theatre School in Bristol. He is regularly seen in the theater in Shakespeare plays and classical tragedies and member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. He is also a well-known speaker in TV documentaries.

Pigott - Smith's most important films in the 1970s and 1980s were Doctor Who, The Jewel in the Crown, Clash of the Titans, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and murder with distributed roles. He played in two BBC adaptations of Elizabeth Gaskell's novel North and South with. In the film version of 1975, he played Frederick Hale in the film adaptation of 2004 whose father Richard Hale.

Other well-known films of Pigott -Smith were Alexander, What Remains of the Day, The Four Feathers, Gangs of New York, Harry and V for Vendetta. He has appeared in series such as Spooks, Midsomer Murders and Inspector Lynley.

He is also a well known radio personality who has taken part in many radio drama productions from BBC Radio 4.

He is married to actress Pamela Miles and has one son.
