Timothy Reckart

Timothy Reckart (* in Arizona ) is an American film director and animator.

Life

Reckart grew up in Arizona. He studied from 2005 to 2009 at Harvard College history and literature and graduated with a bachelor's degree. This was followed from 2010 to 2012, a master's degree in animation directing at the National Film and Television School in London. He specialized in puppet animation, but also worked in digital animation in 2D, pixilation and animations with collage techniques. As part of an internship while studying Reckart worked at Bent Image Lab on advertising films in stop-motion.

His graduation film Head Over Heels he realized in puppet film in stop-motion. It is about a couple who have grown apart literally over the years, but now a trial starts to come together again. This proves to be difficult, yet he lives on the ground, while she lives on the ceiling. Head Over Heels made ​​its debut in 2012 at the International Film Festival in Cannes in 2012 and won the Jury Prize of the Brazilian film festival Anima Mundi, as well as a 2013 Annie Award for Best Student Film. The film was nominated for Best Animated Short Film in 2013 for an Oscar in the category.

Reckart lives in Brooklyn, New York.
