Tin Cup

Tin Cup is an American comedy film directed by Ron Shelton from the year 1996. The film starred Kevin Costner and Rene Russo.

Action

The earlier successful golfer Roy McAvoy lives in Texas from golf lessons. One day the psychologist Dr. Molly Griswold turns to him. She wants to learn golf game to impress her boyfriend David Simms. Simms and McAvoy were once sporting rivals.

McAvoy falls in love with Dr. Griswold, she is first reluctant. He starts at the Tournament U.S. Open, where he lost on the first day. In the afternoon, he is mocked by Simms in a bar. Molly suggests a bet that Roy with the golf ball strikes a distant pier, on which a pelican sits, who then will fly away in fright. Starting point, however, is within a closed space. Kevin Costner was nominated in 1997 for a Golden Globe. Cheech Marin was nominated for the 1996 NCLR Bravo Award.
