Tiquipaya (Santa Cruz)

Tiquipaya is a village in the department of Santa Cruz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Tiquipaya is the second largest city of the canton Jorochito district ( bolivian: Municipio) El Torno in the province of Andrés Ibáñez. Tiquipaya situated at an altitude of 584 m on the right bank of the Rio Pirai between the cities of El Torno and La Angostura.

Geography

Tiquipaya is located in the humid tropical climate on the eastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental. The region was covered before colonization by subtropical rainforest, but today it is mostly cultivated land.

The mean average temperature of the region is 24 ° C, the annual precipitation is 950 mm (see climate chart La Angostura ).
