Tito Paris

Tito Paris (* June 30, 1963 in Mindelo, São Vicente, Cape Verde ) is a Cape Verde singer and musician (guitarist ). He is an important representative of the next Teofilo Chantre and Coladeira and Cesaria Evora one of the best known representatives of Cape Verde music.

Life

Born in Cape Verde music capital Mindelo Tito Paris has been making the age of 10 music. To be able to fulfill his dream, the boy from poor parents had to borrow instruments or leave, give of his uncle, who was instrument maker. In 1980 he had his first arrangement for a band that was very famous in Cape Verde, " gaiatos Os " with the name. In Portugal, after all, he was a member of a band of exiled Cape Verdeans living there, where he remained from 1982 to 1985.

During his music career, he played concerts in France ( Cannes), New York City, Boston, the Netherlands and Brussels.

He sings his songs mostly in Creole and Portuguese. As a composer, he also wrote songs for Bana and Cesaria Evora.

He is now the owner of a music club and lives in Lisbon.
