Tocco family

The Tocco family (plural: Tocci ) is originally derived from Benevento, near Naples nobility.

In the 14th century, the Tocci were very influential in the Ionian Islands. They asked the governor of Corfu and entered the succession of the house Orsini in the County Palatine of Cephalonia. Later ruled by members of the family and the Despotate of Epirus.

The family was finally at the time of Leonardo's rule III. Tocco of Epirus and distributed by the Ionian Islands as illegitimate sons challenging the succession and the Ottomans called for help, they then occupied Epirus and Cephalonia. The Tocci went to Naples into exile, where they received by King Ferdinand I of the feudal Calimera and Briatico awarded.
