Tomahawk (Band)

Tomahawk is an American alternative rock band. It was founded in 2000 by singer Mike Patton ( Faith No More, Fantômas, Mr. Bungle ) and guitarist Duane Denison ( The Jesus Lizard, USSA ) was founded. Denison took the former drummer for the band Helmet, John Stanier, the band, Patton invited Kevin Rutmanis, the former bassist of the Melvins to the project.

Career

Produced by Joe Funderburk, self-titled debut album, the band appeared in 2001. Followed two years later the album with gas, which was created in collaboration with producer Joe Barresi. Both albums published by Patton Ipecac Recordings.

The third album Anonymous appeared in June 2007 ( in Germany on 22 June), also on Ipecac Recordings. Rutmanis left the band during the recording. The album is a soundtrack of traditional Indian chants, the researched Denison when traveling to the Indian reservations in America. The title pays tribute to the Anonymous unknowns in the tradition of Indian music tribute.
