Tomas Lindahl

Tomas Robert Lindahl (born 28 January 1938) is a Swedish cancer researcher. He has rendered special services to the study of the biochemistry of DNA repair.

Life

Lindahl acquired in 1967 at the Karolinska Institute in Solna, near Stockholm with the work " On the structure and stability of nucleic acids in solution" a doctor and an MD in 1970 just there. As a postdoctoral fellow, he worked at Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey (1964-1967) and at the Rockefeller University in New York City, New York ( 1967-1969 ). From 1969 to 1977 he worked at the Karolinska Institute from 1978 to 1981 he was Professor of Medical Biochemistry at the University of Gothenburg. Since 1981, he conducted research for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (later Cancer Research UK ) in London. In 2009, he went into retirement.
