Tomaso Benvenuti

To ( m) maso Benvenuti ( born February 4, 1838 in Cavarzere, † February 26, 1906 in Rome) was an Italian composer.

Little is known about the life and musical training Benvenutis. Apparently, he was largely a self-taught musician, it is believed that he had composition lessons with Antonio Buzzolla in Venice. An early work was a Inno Pio IX after songs from Dante's Divine Comedy. Eighteen- year-old he composed for the Teatro Sociale Mantova Opera Valencia Candiani whose premiere was canceled due to problems at the dress rehearsal. His second opera, Adriana Lecouvreur was listed in the following year with moderate success at the Teatro alla Canobbiana in Milan.
