Tõnu Endrekson

Tõnu Endrekson ( born June 11, 1979 in Pärnu ) is an Estonian rowers.

Sporting successes

Endrekson won the 2001 together with Leonid Gulov the gold medal in the double sculls at the U23 race, which since 2005 has the status of U23 World Championships. In the same year he was able to prove with the Estonian sculls seventh place at the World Championships in Lucerne. The same result could reach the team in 2002 and 2003.

At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens he rowed back together with Leonid Gulov in the double sculls and missed fourth place barely an Olympic medal.

In 2005 he started together with Gulov, Jüri Jaanson and Andrei Jämsä in Estonian sculls. They won, among others, the World Cup race at Eton and the bronze medal at the World Championships in Gifu. The World Rowing Championships 2006, the team did not need any Jaanson confirm the result and again won the bronze medal.

2007 moved Endrekson in the double sculls at the side of the 41 -year-old Jaanson. Together they were able to decide the World Cup race in Lucerne and Amsterdam for themselves. The World Rowing Championships 2007 in Munich, she won the bronze medal. In 2008 Endrekson launched together with Jaanson in the double sculls. At the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, the duo won the silver medal behind the Australian boat.

Awards

  • 2004 Endrekson was chosen together with Leonid Gulov Team of the Year in Estonia.
  • 2005, 2006 and 2012, he won with the Estonian sculls election to the Team of the Year in Estonia
  • In 2007 and 2008 he was elected along with his colleagues Jüri Jaanson Team of the Year in Estonia.
