Tony Jones (snooker player)

Tony Jones ( born April 15, 1960) is a retired English snooker player.

Career

Tony Jones won the English Amateur Championship in 1983 and was subsequently pro. In the 1989/90 season to him at the Asian Open for the first time able to advance to the quarter- finals of a ranking tournament. In three other tournaments that season, he reached the second round. In the world rankings so he moved to No. 35.

The following season he won quite surprising the European Open. During the tournament, he defeated Alain Robidoux, Darren Morgan, Steve James, Dennis Taylor, Brady Gollan and finally in the final Mark Johnston - Allen with 9:7. At the end of the season he rose in the world rankings at No. 16
