Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza

Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza ( * 1750 in Chachapoyas, Peru, † 1825 in Lima, Peru ) was a pioneer of Peruvian independence. He was an ordained priest and lawyer.

Career

He studied at the seminary of San Carlos and San Marcelo Trujillo and then in Santo Toribio seminar in Lima. At the University of San Marcos in Lima, he earned his doctorate in theology in 1770. 1771 as the "Real Convictorio de San Carlos " was founded, he was appointed professor of philosophy and theology. He was ordained a priest and appointed attorney.
