Touring motorcycle

A touring motorcycle is a motorcycle that is particularly suitable for driving long motorcycle trips. Tourer are generously dressed usually in order to effectively relieve the driver from the wind. The classic seating position is only slightly bent forward with a slightly elevated handlebars. The knee angle is convenient, about 80 to 90 degrees. The engine is designed more for torque (elasticity) than at peak performance, so a quiet, but that does not necessarily slow, driving is possible. The technique is usually low maintenance, can be found in this category of motorcycle shaft drive often before.

In the late 1980s the sports tourer, which are characterized by powerful engines and landing gear, and a sportier seating position emerged. The full fairing is designed generally more aerodynamic, points and therefore not quite as expansive as in classic tourers. Typical Sports Tourer are:
