Tovéř

Tovéř until 1921 Tovéř ( German Towersch ), is a village in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers north-east of Olomouc and is part of the Okres Olomouc.

Geography

Tovéř is located at the western foot of the highlands Radíkovská ( Radikauer Bergland ) on the Upper Moravian Valley ( Hornomoravský úval ). North-east rises the Radíkovský Kopec (444 m) with the TV tower Radíkov and east of the Holy Hill (412 m). West of the town, the state highway runs I/46 of Olomouc to Šternberk.

Neighboring towns are Dolánky and Dolany in the north, Radíkov in the East, Holy Hill in the southeast, Samotišky in the south, and Chválkovice Týneček the southwest, Hlušovice in the west and Moravian Loděnice and Trusovice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Tovir was 1203. In 1239 the place as Towir, 1272 as Towirz 1275 as Thowircz, 1281 as Towirs 1317 as Thowiers, 1358 as Dobyrs and 1368 was referred to as Towerz. In 1378 acquired the Litomysl Bishop Albrecht von Sternberg and his nephew Peter von Sternberg Thowierz and Dolany by brothers Beneš and Půta of wild mountain on Bouzov. The following year, the bishop gave regardless of the abbey Hradisch which belonged to the half Thowirz as well as the restaurant, or the homestead in Dolany, on the other hand inlaid protest both villages together with other goods of the monastery Tržek. Between 1388 and 1409 the Order established in Dolany the Charterhouse " Vallis Josaphat ," which was bought out and razed in 1437 by the city of Olomouc. Other forms of the name were Thovíř ( 1481 ), Tovíř (from 1512), Tovéř ( from 1526 ), Towersch (from 1669), Towiersch ( 1676 ), Towerz (from 1720) and Towerž (1771 ). The parish registers were performed in Dolany since 1648. Until the abolition of the Charterhouse Olomouc in 1782 Tovéř remained for over 400 years in the possession of the Carthusians. Then it was connected as part of the rule Dollein to the Kameralherrschaft Hradisch and sold in 1826 to Louis Philippe, Count Saint Genois ď Aneaucourt. 1834 was the village of 32 houses and 224 inhabitants had.

After the abolition of patrimonial Tovéř / Towersch formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Olomouc. As of 1921, the village was the new name for Tovéř Okres Olomouc- venkov. In 1950 Tovéř to Okres Olomouc- okolí and since its repeal in 1961, the place belongs to Okres Olomouc. In 1961 Tovéř was incorporated into Dolany. Since 1990 Tovéř again forms a separate municipality.
