Traben-Trarbach (Verbandsgemeinde)

The community association Traben -Trarbach is an administrative unit in the form of a local authority in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. The municipality includes the town of Traben -Trarbach and five local communities, the administrative headquarters are in the eponymous town of Traben -Trarbach.

History
The municipality comprises largely communities that so far have a historical connection, as they belonged to the Rear County of Sponheim, except only castle and the left of the rubber Bach situated part of the district Kautenbach (these belonged to the Electorate of Trier ). Trarbach was until the end of the old county whose main town and seat of the Higher Office. Irmenach to Bürgermeisterei Trarbach were Traben Trarbach, Enkirch, castle and strong castle county ( cell ), Wolf belonged to the mayor's Kröv (district Bernkastel ): After the area was incorporated in 1815 to Prussia, which places were assigned to different mayors in the area of present-day municipality, Beuren and Lötzbeuren for mayor Sohren ( circle cell ), Kautenbach to the communities Fronhofen and Graach ( Bernkastel district ). In 1884 the mayor Trarbach was dissolved. From the places Enkirch, castle and Starkenburgring the mayoralty Enkirch was formed, Traben formed its own mayor, jointly administered by personal union with the city Trarbach, was a merger of the town of Traben- Trarbach up in 1904.
In the course of administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate, a large part of 1927 resulting from the mayors office in 1968 dissolved or merged and formed the new unitary councils. After 1969 the districts of Bernkastel Wittlich and the new district of Bernkastel -Wittlich had been formed, the two communities Kautenbach and Wolf were dissolved and the town of Traben -Trarbach incorporated on 7 June 1969. From the town of Traben -Trarbach, the communities castle, Enkirch and strong castle and the communities Irmenach, Beuren and Lötzbeuren was it "the eighth state law on administrative simplification in the land of Rhineland -Palatinate " from July 28, 1970 with effect from November 7, 1970 the new community association Traben- Trarbach formed. Traffic
The municipality is located in Traben-Trarbach Transport Association Region Trier ( VRT). The municipality is served by the Mosel wine -Bahn. Hourly operate commuter trains of the railway company Transregio from Traben- Trarbach to Bullay on the Mosel route where connection is made to the long-distance and regional trains towards Koblenz and Trier.
