The community association Wittlich -Land is an administrative unit in the form of a local authority in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. The municipality belong to 24 separate local communities, the administrative headquarters are in the town of Wittlich, although not belonging to the municipality.

Geography

The altitude of Wittlicher country ranges from 125 m at plates in Liesertal up to 448 m on the basement mountain at Dierscheid, the highest elevation of the South Eifel to the landscape of the greater part of the Association of the municipality is part, while the rest is scenic attributable to the Moselle Valley. History

Most of the towns in the country Wittlicher comes from the Frankish settlement period from the 6th to the 8th century. Around the turn of the millennium finds certain places in the possession of various monasteries and smaller fiefdoms.
