Esch, Bernkastel-Wittlich

Esch is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Wittlich -Land.

Geographical location

Ash is located in the southern Salmtal on the edge of the Moselle mountains.

History

Esch was first mentioned in records in 1086 under the name of ash. In the 15th century, Esch residence of the late Eberhard, through which the pilgrimage Klausen was founded. Beginning in 1794, Esch under French rule, 1815, the place on the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia.
