Meerfeld
Sea field is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Manderscheid.
Geography
The village is in the midst of a volcanic crater, known as Meerfelder. A part of the crater is filled with water; the lake is up to 18 meters deep. The Meerfelder is the largest Eifelmaar, because you have this cover the entire basin, ie measure the boiler of edge height to rim height. Then there is an area of around 1500 to 1200 meters. 64.5 percent of the total area of the municipality is forested.

History
To 1152 Sea field is mentioned as part of the parish bed box. Landlords were for centuries the lords of Malberg. Mayor is Karl Weiler ( CDU). He was confirmed in the 2009 election with 60.4 percent of the vote in office.

The four accommodation establishments in the state-approved leisure offer together over 200 beds and 2012 were more than 10,000 people record with more than 34,000 overnight stays.

Old Schmiedehaus
In the Fountain Street is a privately owned museum of crafts that can be visited. In the former home of 1789, the 5 generations, was the residence of the Sea fields blacksmith tools and equipment from the area blacksmith, wheelwright, cooper, cobbler, flax processing and agriculture are seen. Furthermore, you can experience the living conditions of the Eifel from the early 1900's in the original here. The opposite Old Forge is functional furnishings.
