Niederscheidweiler

Niederscheidweiler is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Manderscheid.

Geography

Niederscheidweiler located on the edge of the volcanic Eifel on the wooded ridge about Alf and Sammetbachtal.

To Niederscheidweiler include residential places Eichenhof, Lindenhof, Sonnenhof Windhof.

History

The first mention of Niederscheidweiler was 893 in Prüm land register. In the Middle Ages and the early modern period, the village belonged to the Electorate of Trier. Beginning in 1794, Niederscheidweiler under French rule, 1815, the place on the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 he is part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

Parish council

The local council in Niederscheidweiler consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman. The six seats in the municipal council are divided into two groups of voters. 2004, a majority vote was held.

Culture and sights

The GeoRoute " Devon " leads as a walking path through the environment. The tower of the church of St. Hubertus dates from the 12th or 13th century
