Musweiler

Musweiler is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Manderscheid.

Geography

The village is located in the Eifel. To the north is Großlittgen, in the east and south is Minderlittgen and Hupperath country Scheid. The nearest large city is the county town of Wittlich, about six kilometers east located.

To Musweiler include residential places Birkenhof, Eichenhof, Lindenhof, Margaretenhof, Meese mill and Musweilermühle.

History

The Wasserburg Musweiler was a Kurtrierer fief of the lords of Manderscheid, who had possession at times weiterverlehnt to the Lords of Esch. Beginning in 1794, Musweiler under French rule, 1815, the place on the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 he is part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

Parish council

The local council in Musweiler consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Economy and infrastructure

In the south of the motorway runs 60th in Wittlich is a station of the Mosel route. On the Eichenhof live award-winning cattle.
