Schladt

Schladt is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Manderscheid.

Geography

The village is located in the Eifel mountains east of Lieser in a natural landscape designated as Schladter Switzerland. Neighboring towns are Gipperath, Plein, Minderlittgen, Großlittgen and Karl. The nearest major town is Wittlich, about six kilometers to the southeast.

To Schladt include residential space Schladtermühle and the southern part of the hamlet hamlet Brühl. The northern part of the hamlet belongs to the local church Oberöfflingen.

History

Beginning in 1794, Schladt under French rule, 1815, the place on the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 he is part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

Parish council

The local council in Schladt consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

In the south, the Federal Highway 60, the motorway runs to the east first Wittlich is a station of the Mosel route.
