Wallscheid

Wallscheid is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Manderscheid.

Geography

The resort is located in the Eifel. 7 km west lies Manderscheid.

To Wallscheid include residential places Lenz house, at the station, and Kiefernhof Tannenhof.

History

Öfflingen and thus the present town Wallscheid the monastery of Echternach was given to 771 before. The Lords of Manderscheid were used by the Abbey, as governors. Beginning in 1794, Wallscheid under French rule, 1814, the place on the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 he is part of the newly founded state of Rhineland- Palatinate.

Parish council

The local council in Wallscheid consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
