Platten, Germany
Plates is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Wittlich -Land.
Geography
The village lies on the river Lieser in a tributary of the Moselle. Nearest Resource Centres are Wittlich and Bernkastel-Kues.
History
Plates was first mentioned in 1084 as a villa Platana documented. Beginning in 1794, plates under French rule, 1815, the place on the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 he is part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

Parish council
The council consists of twelve plates in council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman. The twelve seats in the municipal council are divided into two groups of voters.

In the main silver shield a red cross bar, including a silver blue oblique beams, covered with three goldenbesamten, five-petalled, red roses. In blue above a silver forest hooks.
