Merschbach
Merschbach in the Hunsrück is a municipality in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Thalfang to the inheritance head.

History
Was first documented Merschbach 1281, which at that time belonged to the Counts of Hunolstein. Through the turmoil of the French Revolution, the place came in 1800 under French rule and in 1815 part of the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 it has been part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.
Population Development
Since the 1970s, the population of the municipality has declined sharply; had Merschbach in 1970 at the formation of the community association Thalfang the inheritance head still 109 inhabitants, it was the end of 2010, only 48

Parish council
The local council in Merschbach consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman location.
